Julie Hau is a freelance photographer/photo editor based in Brooklyn, New York. She is currently the art/photo intern at Harpers Magazine while also working on the production team of Open Show NY, looking for new bodies of work to show at their bi-monthly slide shows.
Julie graduated from the Documentary and Photojournalism program at the International Center of Photography in 2008 following 6 years as a studio manager/photographer in Germany where she produced editorial and commercial shoots throughout Europe.
In her free time Julie spends time running and baking bread when not spending time with her husband, documentary photographer Jason Andrew.
Julie’s own documentary work was a Magenta Flash Forward US winner in 2011 and received an honorable mention in 2009. Her editorial work has been published in the Denver Post, Shots Magazine, NYU News&Views, Columbia Journalist and Columbia News Service, HEALTHCARE DESIGN, TV Show “In your wallet“, F-stop magazine, the Westdeutsche Zeitung and Niederrhein Edition.
